SHORT NEWS: President visits Bipa headquarters
President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has reaffirmed that Namibia’s economy is driven by the private sector, describing local and international investors as critical partners in development, job creation and the building of generational wealth. During a courtesy visit to the One-Stop Centre at the Business and Intellectual Property Authority (Bipa) headquarters in Windhoek yesterday, the President urged officials to treat investors with professionalism, efficiency and transparency. She warned that delays and sending investors from one office to another damages the country’s reputation. “It should not take a whole week to inform an investor whether their request is approved or rejected,” she said, calling for faster, ethical decision-making and improved coordination among ministries.
