SHORT NEWS: Oshana police arrest man over chemical attack on woman

Police in the Oshana Region have arrested a suspect allegedly linked to the shooting of Ondangwa district control and regional court prosecutor Justine Shiweda. Shiweda, who survived the attack, sustained serious leg injuries and chemical burns after being shot and doused with an acidic substance at her home. It remained unclear when the suspect would appear in court because of the nationwide magistrates’ strike that started yesterday. Police say investigations are ongoing, with at least one other suspect believed to have fled to South Africa.
