SHORT NEWS: Opuwo’s Katutura Extension 2 are demanding compensation

Residents of Opuwo’s Katutura Extension 2 are demanding compensation from the local authority following their relocation from the Ouranda informal settlement in 2019. The group claims that out of more than 400 people who were moved, only about 10 have received compensation. Group spokesperson Jem-Jem Roona Pato said they have written to the Minister of Urban and Rural Development, James Sankwasa, requesting his intervention in the matter.
