The Ministry of Works and Transport has launched a new web-based fleet management system to modernise government vehicle oversight, improve efficiency, and curb misuse and corruption. Developed internally, the system will track vehicle movements, maintenance, and fuel consumption in real time. Speaking at the launch yesterday, Minister Veikko Nekundi warned that officials who drive recklessly, cause financial losses, or manipulate records will be banned from using government vehicles and publicly exposed. “The system will help us hold individuals accountable and eliminate abuse of state property,” he said.
