SHORT NEWS - Kavango teen nabbed with illicit goods

Police in Kavango arrested an 18-year-old man at the Nkurenkuru open market on Tuesday for possessing illicit goods worth N$11 510. According to Kavango West regional commander Julio Sukawa-Neo, the suspect was found with 539 packs of Yes cigarettes, 10 single sticks, four bottles of Rumba whiskey, and four sachets of Noki whiskey. The arrest occurred at around 09:09 on 13 May 2025. The suspect is expected to appear in court soon. Authorities say investigations continue into the origin of the items and potential links to broader illegal trading networks.
