Serious crime cops nabbed for corruption
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has announced the arrest of four members of the Namibian Police Force who allegedly solicited bribes from suspects in custody in exchange for facilitating or recommending the granting of bail.
According to the ACC, a whistle-blower alerted the commission on 3 August 2018, prompting an investigation that substantiated the allegations against four officers attached to the Serious Crime Investigation Unit. The suspects were arrested on 20 October 2025 and appeared in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court the following day.
Frans Nakangombe was granted bail of N$10 000, while his co-accused — Errky Nekwaya, Stephanus Amatundu and Gabriel Nduma — were each released on N$4 000 bail.
“The ACC applauds the whistle-blower for having the courage to expose the alleged corrupt practices,” the commission said.
