Security guard fatally shoots suspected thief

Namibian Police have reported that a security guard allegedly fatally shot a 46-year-old suspected thief in Tsumeb last week.
Police spokesperson Kauna Shikwambi said the shooting happened on Friday at around 21:00.
Shikwambi said the victim sustained an open wound on the left side of the chest and at the back of his head. According to Shikwambi, the security guard was on duty when the suspects and others entered the premises that had been broken into a day earlier. The police allege that the suspects wanted to retrieve some items that had been left behind. No arrest was made, and police investigation continues.
