School drug find leads to 3 arrests

Two Grade 9 learners, aged 19 and 16, were arrested at a Grootfontein school last Wednesday after they were allegedly found in possession of a ziplock bag containing 14.5 grams of cannabis with an estimated street value of N$725.

Police later arrested a 32-year-old woman, identified as the 19-year-old learner’s aunt, who is suspected of supplying the drugs.

She was allegedly found with 602 grams of cannabis, packed in 18 ziplock bags and valued at N$30 100. Police also seized N$19 666 in cash, believed to be proceeds from drug sales.
