Rössing Uranium has donated a laser alignment tool valued at about N$130 000 to the Namibia Institution of Mining and Technology (NIMT) to strengthen technical training for fitter and turner apprentices.

At the handover, mining asset management manager Chris Tueutjiua said the precision instrument reflects emerging technological advancements in industry and stressed that artisans must be trained on equipment currently used in the field before they graduate.

NIMT executive director Ralph Bussel welcomed the investment, saying high-value industrial tools are often difficult to procure due to limited funding and that the donation will help align training with industry expectations.
