Remain vigilant this festive season

NEWS IN SHORT
STAFF REPORTER
With the festive season approaching and a surge in housebreaking cases expected, the Namibia Police has urged homeowners to remain vigilant. Key safety tips include informing your local police station and a trusted neighbour about your plans should you be absent from your home and securing all doors and windows.

Avoid exposing valuables, invest in security measures like alarms, and join neighbourhood forums. While on holiday, refrain from publicising plans on social media and ensure bins are emptied and outdoor lights managed. Upon returning, report back to the police and inspect your property for signs of tampering or theft.

"Stay alert and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station to safeguard your property this holiday season," the police advised.
