President's China visit kicks off
President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah kicked off a state visit to China this week, meeting Huang Kunming, a member of the political bureau of the central committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and secretary of the CPC Guangdong provincial committee, as well as Guangdong provincial leaders.
The president expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the government of China and noted that she had deliberately chosen Guangzhou as her point of entry because of its strategic economic significance. She said the visit presents an important opportunity for Namibia to learn from one of China’s leading economic and innovation hubs, while creating new opportunities for the accompanying Namibian business delegation.
Huang welcomed Nandi-Ndaitwah and reaffirmed Guangdong’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Namibia.
