President concerned about high power costs at green schemes
SHORT NEWS
President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah visited the Shadikongoro Green Scheme in Kavango East yesterday, where she met a small-scale onion farmer to discuss progress at his plot. She was scheduled to tour all state-owned green schemes in the region before concluding her visit in Kavango West today.
Nandi-Ndaitwah highlighted the challenge of high electricity consumption at state-run farms, saying frequent cost spikes have long strained operations. She added that the government would continue engaging stakeholders to find sustainable ways of improving green scheme productivity.
