Police seize drugs worth over N$6 million in July
The Namibian Police seized illicit drugs valued at more than N$6 million during July, leading to the arrest of 214 suspects, including several foreign nationals.
Police spokesperson Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi said the bulk of the haul consisted of 597.06 kg of cannabis, worth about N$5.97 million. Other confiscated substances included mandrax (N$70 800), cocaine powder (N$1 250), crack cocaine (N$10 600), crystal meth (N$2 500) and Cytotec tablets (N$11 000).
Of the suspects, 202 are Namibians, while the remainder comprise five Angolans, three Ugandans, three Zambians and one Zimbabwean.
