Police net 203 suspects in drug crackdown

Police arrested 203 suspects and seized large quantities of illicit drugs during nationwide operations between 1 and 31 March.

An operation report shows that more than 221 000 kg of cannabis and over 114 000 kg of methcathinone, alongside mandrax, cocaine, crack cocaine, MDMA, mushrooms and abortion tablets, were seized.

Of the 203 suspects arrested, 193 were Namibians, while the remainder included Angolan, Congolese, Tanzanian, Portuguese and Zimbabwean nationals.
