Police hunt suspect in fatal Okahandja stabbing
A manhunt has been launched by the Namibian Police following the fatal stabbing of a young man in Okahandja on Monday afternoon.
Sources said emergency services were contacted after a man was discovered lying on the dual carriageway behind Bridge Park, suffering from multiple stab wounds to the chest and left shoulder.
The source said they were advised to contact the police. However, when the Okahandja Police Station was called, they were informed that no police vehicles were available at the time.
The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Benjamin Rukero, and his next of kin have since been informed.
Okahandja station commander Mathias Tjarimba confirmed that investigations are ongoing, adding that police are hopeful emerging leads will assist in identifying the suspect. No arrests have been made yet.
Members of the public are urged to report any information to their nearest police station or contact law enforcement authorities.
