Police caution against fake AI content

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Namibian Police said it had observed several AI-generated images portraying police officers and warned that such content could mislead the public, particularly when accompanied by false or misleading information.

The police said they do not support the creation or dissemination of content that contradicts the force’s mandate, functions and values, adding that such material has the potential to damage the institution’s reputation and create confusion among members of the public.

She said they would continue to engage the public through accurate, verified and responsible communication.
