Police arrest 211 suspects for drugs

The Namibian Police continued their drug crackdown in September, resulting in 211 arrests and the seizure of substantial quantities of illegal substances across the country.

Police spokesperson Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi said officers confiscated 1 085.386 kg of cannabis, 1 035 mandrax tablets, 33 grams of cocaine powder, and 186.5 units of crack cocaine between 1 and 30 September.

Of those arrested, 202 are Namibian nationals. The remaining suspects include two Angolans, one Burundian, one Tanzanian, and five Zambians.

Shikwambi urged the public to actively participate in combating the scourge of drugs.
