Parents pull children from school over water crisis
Parents have withdrawn their children from Kapako Combined School in Kavango West over a severe water crisis that has left toilets unusable and forced learners and teachers to relieve themselves in the bush.
Speaking during a demonstration yesterday, community representative Alfred Hausiku said the school has gone over three months without a reliable water supply. The only borehole – drilled before independence – has failed. The school has 755 learners.
Community members are preparing a second petition to the constituency councillor, demanding urgent intervention and a new borehole.
