NO ID, NO JOB: At 51, Nikodemus Katjihoro has never held an official identity document, relying instead on a five-year-old photo card just to prove who he is.

Katjihoro told Namibian Sun on Monday that he has spent his entire life without an official identity document. He said he has relied on a photo card obtained about five years ago as his only form of identification.

Katjihoro said he registered for an identity document during the 2019 presidential election but has still not received it.

He said the lack of an official ID has affected his ability to access jobs, as many employers require identification before hiring workers, particularly for contract jobs where documentation is needed.
