Nekundi urges fair pay, safety on road project

During yesterday’s groundbreaking for the Mbeyo–Erago road in Kavango West, Works and Transport Minister Veikko Nekundi urged contractors to pay employees fairly and in line with the Labour Act.
He added that companies must prioritise staff safety and ensure high-quality work.
The minister emphasised that the project must be completed within 12 months, warning that any contractor or consulting company causing delays would be held accountable and bear the costs. He stressed the importance of responsible delivery for the benefit of the Kavango West community.
