The Ndama Community Information Centre was officially launched in Rundu this week under the ISUD project, a joint initiative between Germany’s economic cooperation and development (BMZ) ministry, the Urban and Rural Development Ministry, the Rundu Town Council and GIZ Namibia. The centre is aimed at improving service delivery and land governance in the Ndama South informal settlement. Speaking at the event, Ulrike Metzger of the German Embassy in Namibia said the centre is the first of its kind in the country, bringing basic services closer to residents and reducing travel costs. She said the centre will also serve as a community space for engagement and that it reflects 36 years of Namibia–Germany development cooperation on inclusive urban development.
