NCAA announces airspace restrictions
NEWS IN SHORT
The Namibia Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) yesterday announced that airspace within the Windhoek Flight Information Region is restricted as of today until 2 March to ensure safety and security during the mourning and funeral proceedings for the late founding father, Dr Sam Nujoma.
The restriction "entails the suspension of general aviation operations at Hosea Kutako International Airport and prohibits unauthorised drone operations within the area," Toska Sem, the executive director of the NCAA, said.
The NCCA emphasised that all drone operations conducted without authorisation are strictly prohibited during this period, whether for private, commercial or recreational purposes, except for media operations approved by the relevant authorities.
