Nandi-Ndaitwah calls for protection of children
President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has called for stronger action to protect children from abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence, saying such acts remain unacceptable violations of children's rights.
On International Day of the African Child yesterday, Nandi-Ndaitwah said access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene is a fundamental human right and essential for children's health, education and development.
She said Namibia remains committed to investing in children through education, healthcare and social protection, including the Eighth Administration's subsidised tertiary education programme. The president urged parents, communities, educators, civil society and government to work together to ensure every child is protected and given the opportunity to reach their full potential.
