NamPower scouts for new boss
Mines and energy minister Modestus Amutse has authorised NamPower’s board to start recruiting a new managing director, setting in motion the succession process for one of Namibia’s most strategic state-owned enterprises.
In a letter dated 17 June, Amutse approved the commencement of the recruitment process following consultations with the NamPower board and discussions on the impending expiry of managing director Simson Haulofu’s term in December.
The successful candidate must hold a master’s degree in an electrical or energy-related discipline and an MBA or leadership qualification, in addition to extensive industry and executive management experience.
