Namibia needs a happiness ministry - councillor
NEWS IN SHORT
Rundu Rural councillor Paulus Mbangu has called for the creation of a Ministry of Happiness in Namibia, arguing that current structures fail to address citizens’ mental well-being. Speaking to Namibian Sun, he said the health ministry focuses more on treating illness than on prevention or wellness. Mbangu believes a dedicated ministry could better measure and improve national well-being. His remarks come at a time when rising suicide rates in the region and across the country are in the spotlight.
