Namibia, China deepen ties

The Namibia-China Media and Think Tank People's Exchange Programme, which ran from 29 June to 3 July in Shanghai, has officially concluded. During the week-long visit, Namibian delegates explored China's development model, urban planning, technological innovation, media cooperation, trade and investment opportunities, and people-to-people diplomacy. The programme also highlighted preparations for the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, building on commitments made under the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation to deepen collaboration between Africa and China. The visit also saw the signing of a cooperation agreement between Shanghai's Maqiao Town and the Okahandja Municipality.
