Mushelenga to chair parliamentary committee

Swapo politician Dr Peya Mushelenga has been elected chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on International Relations, Defence and Security.

Mushelenga was elected during a by-election held by the committee to fill the vacancy left by the late James Uerikua, who died on 3 April.

Mushelenga returned to the National Assembly in April after being sworn in as a member of parliament to replace Uerikua.

Member of parliament Utaara Mootu will continue serving as the committee's deputy chairperson.
