Mushelenga returns to parliament
Swapo member and former Cabinet minister Dr Peya Mushelenga is set to be sworn in as a member of Namibia’s 8th National Assembly today, following arrangements confirmed by the judiciary.
He will replace the late James Uerikua, who passed away during the Easter weekend.
According to official correspondence from the Office of the Deputy Chief Justice, Shafimana Ueitele, the Deputy Judge-President of the High Court, has been designated to administer the oath or solemn affirmation.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place at 10:00 in the National Assembly chambers.
With 15 degrees to his name, Mushelenga is considered Namibia’s most educated man.
