Mayor visits shack fire victims

Windhoek mayor Ndeshihafela Larandja on Friday paid a visit to Philipus Mwoondimani and his family in the Maxwilili informal settlement after a shack fire destroyed their home and belongings. The fire, which occurred the previous Saturday, consumed everything the family owned. Only a laptop and schoolbooks belonging to their daughter, a NUST student, were spared. Through the City’s disaster risk management division, the mayor donated mattresses and blankets to the family.
