Man arrested over suspected stolen hospital drugs
A 40-year-old Congolese national was arrested in Otjiwarongo last week after police say they discovered pharmaceutical medicines, baby formula and diapers believed to have been unlawfully obtained from the state hospital.
During a search of a tuckshop in Orwetoveni, police found a range of medicines and baby formula displayed for sale. Authorities say the suspect was unable to provide proof of lawful ownership or a licence to distribute pharmaceutical products.
Officials from the health ministry declared the premises unfit to dispense medicines. The suspect was expected to appear in the Otjiwarongo Magistrate's Court on Monday.
