Kunene rolls out mass TB testing drive
A tuberculosis (TB) testing campaign is under way in the Kunene region, with screening conducted in Outjo yesterday.
The campaign was launched in Sesfontein last week and has since moved through Opuwo, Warmquelle and Kamanjab. It will continue in Outjo until 19 June.
Lauda !Hoaes (80), who participated in the testing at the Outjo Community Hall today, said: “This testing is important. It is testing for tuberculosis. It is important to know how your lungs are.”
!Hoaes encouraged others to take part in the screening.
Chief regional health programmes officer for Kunene, Romana Shaningwa, said the aim is to detect undiagnosed tuberculosis cases in the community.
He said the turnout has been promising so far.
