Katima launches debt relief initiative

The Katima Mulilo Town Council has launched a verification exercise to identify qualifying pensioners and persons with disabilities for a possible municipal debt write-off.

In a statement, the council said the exercise will run from 21 to 31 July. Eligible residents are encouraged to visit the council offices with the required supporting documents for verification. The council stressed that the exercise does not guarantee approval, as all applications will be assessed in line with government directives, council policies and the relevant ministerial approval process.
