IPC recalls City councillor
NEWS IN SHORT
The Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) have recalled their City of Windhoek councillor Bernadus Araeb amid reports of an internal ‘cold war’ among the party’s representatives in the municipal council.
Araeb was recalled last Friday, following a letter from IPC national general secretary Christine Aochamus to City CEO Moses Matyayi, formally notifying him of the withdrawal.
Matyayi confirmed receipt of the letter and said: “This has created a vacancy which must now be gazetted. The political party [IPC] will be notified accordingly, and the process will proceed in line with Section 13(4) of the Local Authorities Act, 1992 (Act 23 of 1992), as amended.”
