Iipumbu appointed ambassador to Angola
President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has appointed government’s chief of protocol Leonard Iipumbu as Namibia’s new ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Angola, the Presidency announced. A seasoned diplomat who also previously served as CEO of Agribank, Iipumbu brings over 30 years of experience in international relations, governance, and public administration, according to a statement. He previously represented Namibia as ambassador to the United States of America, with concurrent accreditation to Brazil, Canada and Mexico, and earlier as ambassador to France, where he also served as non-resident envoy to Italy, Portugal and Spain, as well as Namibia’s delegate to UNESCO.
