Hospital street vendors summoned over removal
Street vendors ordered to vacate the area opposite Windhoek Central Hospital by the Windhoek City Police have been summoned to the City of Windhoek chambers to meet with Mayor Ndeshihafela Larandja regarding their removal.
The vendors hold a letter from the City of Windhoek’s Department of Economic Development, which authorises them to temporarily operate at the site while a formal market is being constructed.
However, Windhoek City Police spokesperson Marceline Murapo stated that the traders failed to meet the required trading conditions, including access to ablution facilities and possession of valid fitness certificates.
