Gendev workers protest alleged labour abuses
SHORT NEWS
Gendev fishing company workers from Walvis Bay gathered at the justice and labour relations ministry in Windhoek on Monday to hand over a petition outlining concerns over alleged unfair labour practices. These include the alleged breaching of a 98-hour contract, issues with sick and annual leave payments, unanswered petitions submitted earlier this year, and pension fund queries. They called for an urgent meeting with the labour minister Wise Immanuel, Gendev management, NASAWU and shop stewards, and said they will continue demonstrating until an agreement is reached.
