Police spokesperson Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi on Sunday said a 39-year-old woman was allegedly shot and killed by her boyfriend at Havana Ongos in Windhoek on Friday.

The woman died at the scene. Police said the suspect was arrested and remains in police custody while investigations continue.

Police also reported an attempted murder in Windhoek West on Friday night, where a drunk driver allegedly shot a 45-year-old man in the neck after refusing to undergo an alcohol test and arguing with police. 

The victim is receiving medical treatment in hospital, while the suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.
