Former IPC councillor dies
Former City of Windhoek councillor and Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) member, Desiree Davids, has died in a suspected suicide in Tsumeb, where she had reportedly been residing in recent months.
Davids served on the city council for seven months before being suspended by the IPC over allegations that she used her position for personal gain to acquire land in Windhoek. She later resigned from the party. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) subsequently cleared her of any wrongdoing in the land matter. Since leaving the City council, Davids led a relatively quiet private life.
