Editors' Forum launches media, elections report

The Editors' Forum of Namibia hosted a Media, Elections and Institutional Reflection event in the capital yesterday. The occasion marked the official launch of the 2024 Media and Elections Report, which serves as a platform to reflect on media and election monitoring during the 2024 presidential and National Assembly elections. The discussion featured a panel comprising academics, journalists and researchers. Speaking at the event, deputy speaker of the National Assembly Phillipus Katamelo highlighted the media’s crucial role in informing and empowering the public. He stressed that journalists must be well-informed to provide accurate and balanced reporting, ensuring elections remain a true expression of the people's will.
