Dry taps on Friday at Windhoek, Okahandja

NamWater has announced that the Von Bach Water Treatment Plant will be without electricity on Friday, 5 June, from 07:00 to 18:00, resulting in water supply interruptions to Windhoek, Okahandja and surrounding areas.

Affected areas will also include Osona Village, Gross Barmen, Namib Poultry Industries, Finkenstein, Herbothsblick and Hosea Kutako International Airport, among others.

NamWater said the outage will directly affect operations at the plant and its pump stations.

"Consequently, the pump stations will be unable to transfer water for the duration of the power outage and until power supply is fully restored,” spokesperson Lot Ndamanomhata said.
