Control prosecutor shot at Ondangwa

The control and regional court prosecutor for the Ondangwa district, Justine Shiweda, was seriously injured on Friday morning after she was shot in the legs and doused with an acidic substance by unknown assailants at her home. Shiweda survived the attack and is receiving medical treatment at a local hospital. The motive for the assault remains unclear at this stage, although officials suspect that the attack was attempted assassination. According to sources, the attack occurred in front of her children, whom she was about to take to school. It comes just days after Shiweda’s house was reportedly broken into. The incidents have sent shockwaves through the legal fraternity in the northern regions, with colleagues describing the attack as deeply disturbing and calling for swift action from law enforcement.
