City warns against illegal water connections
The City of Windhoek has warned residents and businesses against illegal water connections.
Anyone found in violation of the regulations will be subject to the immediate disconnection of their water supply, the City said. Offenders may also be fined up to N$1 000, in addition to back charges based on estimated water consumption.
Those responsible may also be required to pay the costs of investigations, repairs and administrative processes resulting from the illegal connection. Legal action could result in a fine of up to N$2 000, imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months, or both.
