Cannabis smuggling foiled at Oshakati holding cells

Oshana police regional commander, Commissioner Naftal Lungameni Sakaria, said on Monday that a suspect was arrested over the weekend after allegedly attempting to smuggle 55 grams of cannabis into the holding cells at Oshakati Police Station.

According to police, the incident was quickly intercepted by the station commander, who was alerted to the situation and ensured the contraband was confiscated before it could reach detainees. The cannabis had been hidden, among other items, in a tube of toothpaste.
