Boy (9) dies in truck accident

A 9-year-old boy died following a truck accident at Agrotour farm in Kavango West region yesterday.

According to Kavango West police regional commander Julia Sakuwa-Neo, a 37-year-old driver was transporting workers in an NDF truck around 07:00 when he allegedly struck a guinea fowl, lost control of the vehicle and overturned.

“The truck was carrying five passengers. A nine-year-old boy, died on the spot, while three others aged 40, 35, 12 and 10 sustained serious injuries and were transported to Rundu State Hospital,” she said.
