Armed gang targets elderly Windhoek couple
An elderly couple was reportedly held hostage last Friday morning in their home by a gang of armed robbers.
The Namibian Police's weekend serious incidents report stated that five suspects allegedly targeted the couple's residence in Locke Street, Academia, at around 09:10.
The suspects cut through an electric fence before gaining entry to the property. The couple, both pensioners, were overpowered, restrained and threatened while the intruders ransacked the house.
The suspects stole firearms, ammunition, electronic devices and cash before fleeing the scene. No arrests had been made by Sunday, and none of the stolen property had been recovered.
