Scientific Society hosts ORKCA and Geopark Story
Nabot Mbeeli, CEO of the Orange River-Karoo Conservation Area (ORKCA), will give a talk at the Namibia Scientific Society in Windhoek tomorrow at 19:00 on how conservation is about more than protecting nature. It plays a vital role in restoring Namibia’s unique desert landscapes and creating opportunities for communities.
Mbeeli will discuss landscape restoration, biodiversity conservation, heritage preservation and community development, highlighting how these elements come together at ORKCA and the Nama-!Garib Geopark. He will also outline aspirations to develop Southern Africa’s first Unesco Global Geopark.
