Samsung could launch three groundbreaking devices later this month

Asif Iqbal Shaik
After perfecting its foldable phones this year, Samsung is ready to expand its portfolio of mobile devices. To that end, the company now appears ready to introduce three new high-end devices later this month, including its first XR headset.

According to a report from NewsPim and Newsworks, Samsung will introduce three new devices during a launch event in South Korea on September 29, 2025.

Two of these devices aren't surprises, as the company announced the development of its XR headset platform in partnership with Google and Qualcomm. It would be the first device to run Android XR and will compete with Apple's Vision Pro headset. Moreover, the company hinted at its tri-folding smartphone in its recent earnings call. The development of AI glasses is an innovation that will likely compete with Meta's AI Glasses.

Samsung's AI glasses are reportedly named “Project Haean” internally. In Korean, Haean means seaside or coast. They are said to be audio-only glasses powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon AR1+ Gen 1 chip, featuring an onboard camera, microphone, and loudspeakers.

It is reported that these AI glasses can capture photos and videos, answer your questions using an onboard AI assistant, and help with what you are looking at.

The Galaxy Z TriFold could be Samsung's first tri-folding phone. It could have a 6.5-inch cover screen and a nearly 10-inch foldable screen. It can transform from a phone to a full-sized tablet, so you won't need to carry both a phone and a tablet separately.

It is said to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, 12 GB or 16 GB RAM, up to 1TB storage, a triple-camera setup on the rear similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Android 16 (One UI 8).

This would be the first time Samsung would have a third Galaxy Unpacked event in a year. It makes sense to have an additional event, as the South Korean firm is announcing three completely new devices, all of which are important for Samsung's future.

The XR headset is expected to launch in South Korea first and go on sale on October 13. The tri-folding smartphone could be the next to launch in South Korea, shortly after the XR headset, while the AI glasses are expected to go on sale before the end of this year. However, it is unclear whether the AI glasses will be available only in Korea or globally.
