#JustIn: Ministry snubs Khorixas’ appointments
.
The ministry of urban and rural development has sent a letter to the Khorixas town council, noting that administrative procedures were "grossly violated" and that it could therefore not acknowledge and publish a vacancy notice, which resulted from the United Democratic Front (UDF) recalling two representatives.
Towards the end of February, the UDF recalled Marcia Hendricks, chairperson of the management committee of the Khorixas town council, and local authority councilor Gideon //Useb after they failed to give an accurate response to meeting minutes requested by the ministry.
Earlier this month, the council appointed Erwin /Howoseb and Karel Tjitana as local authority councilors.
In the letter, the ministry demands that the town council should rectify these mistakes; then only the newly sworn-in members will be valid.
The council was urged to refrain the newly sworn-in members from participating in decision-making, because this may "compromise/invalidate council resolutions".
