Oshana promotes 17 police officers
Oshana police regional commander Commissioner Naftal Lungameni Sakaria on Thursday announced the promotion of 17 police officers as part of efforts to strengthen leadership ranks within the region.
The promotions were officiated during the official launch of 'Operation New Era' at the police headquarters in Oshakati ahead of Easter weekend safety operations.
The promoted officers include 12 sergeants, four warrant officers, and one inspector. Sakaria acknowledged their “consistent service and unwavering commitment to upholding law and order” in the region.
The commissioner urged the newly promoted officers to uphold their critical role in ensuring effective service delivery at all levels.
He also encouraged those who were not promoted to remain diligent and perform their duties “to the best of their abilities,” with the goal of being included in the next round of promotions within the region.
"We need effective officers wherever you find yourself," he said.
"Hard work is the cornerstone of it all. We will identify you and recommend you to the inspector general, and we will place you where we feel you can perform," he noted.
At the same occasion, Sakaria handed over certificates of achievements to civilian staff members and personnel from the forensics and pathology departments for their exceptional performance in the execution of their duties.
