JUST IN: Flashfloods - two more bodies found
The bodies of two more homeless people who went missing in Wednesday’s flashfloods in Windhoek, were found by the police today.
A boy, often seen near the Game shopping complex, was identified by family as Antonio “Toni” Vries.
The police also found the body of Terence “Glaai” Garoseb, who was identified by relatives. He was between 25 and 30 years old, and his body was found in a riverbed next to Moses Garoëb Street.
A group of ten homeless people was swept away Wednesday between 17:30 and 18:30. It is believed they were in a tunnel behind the Game complex.
Four children were saved, while four drowned. Two are still missing.
The police discovered two bodies yesterday around 15:00 in the riverbed following an extensive search.
